Overview
Attaching a File Stored in Seismic
To attach a file stored in Seismic to a section, Q&A pair, or other, click the Paperclip icon.
A pop-up box with your file repositories is displayed. Click Seismic.
Navigate to the file as usual.
Select the checkbox of the file you want to attach, and then click Add.
Adding Files to the Content Library from Seismic
To add files to the Content Library, click the + Add Content icon at the top of the page, and then click Document(s). You may be prompted to specify the business unit.
Click Seismic. Navigate to the files you want to add and select their checkboxes.
Click Next.
Specify the properties for the first file. Select the subsequent files and update them in turn, or select Apply the same properties to all Documents. When you are finished, click Upload.
The files will appear in the Content Library with the Seismic logo.
Uploading Files for Projects
You can upload files as project documents or attach them to individual sections.
To upload files as project documents, navigate to the Project Documents page, and then click + Add Files.
Select Seismic, and navigate to the files as described previously. Select the checkboxes for the files, and then click Add.
The files will be added to the project documents. Click Properties from a file's menu. You can add the file to the Document Library, and change it from an attachment (the default) to an import file. If you change it to an import file, you cannot change it back to an attachment.
To add a file to a section, navigate to the Sections page. Select Attach Files from the menu of the section you want to update.
Click Seismic, and navigate to the files you want to add. Select the appropriate checkboxes and click Add. When you look at the section, the file will be attached.
Managing File Updates
If files from Seismic are updated in Seismic, RFPIO will add a blue dot to the Seismic icon for the files.
Click on the icon to see details about the file and updated it.
Note: This feature is not available for LiveDocs.
Automatic vs. Manual Updates
To maximize efficiency, RFPIO does not constantly check for updates automatically. It checks when the user clicks Preview or Download for the file, and it only checks for updates for the same file once per day.
There are no restrictions if users perform manual updates from the Content Library; RFPIO will check for updates every time. Users can perform manual updates on files attached to Q&A pairs by selecting Update File from the three-dot menu.
Exporting a Project to Seismic
To export a project to Seismic, select the More Options button and then click Publish to Seismic.
Specify the file location where the export package should be published. Click Upload.
When the file is published, you will receive a success message. The export package will appear as a folder. Click it to see all the files included in the package, including any attachments.
Support for LiveDocs
RFPIO users with Seismic can attach LiveDocs stored in the Seismic Enablement Cloud to projects, sections, and Q&A pairs. You will be prompted to enter the fields in the LiveDoc, customizing it. When you are finished, RFPIO will compile the finished document and attach it.
Tables in LiveDocs
We also support table values in LiveDocs when generating attachment files for projects and imports. When a Seismic table has variables present, you can add values for those variables in RFPIO.
- After you click the Attachment icon, select the Seismic option.
- Select the file and click Next.
- Complete the fields as appropriate.
- The columns listed in the TableField section correspond to the column variables present in the Seismic table.
- Click + Add Empty Row to add more values.
- Click Edit
to either duplicate or delete the row.
- Drag and drop to reorder the rows.
- Click Generate to generate the LiveDoc and attach it. You can click the attachment to see a preview.
