Accessing the Different Toolbars
Responsive provides different toolbars you use to mark the content in files you are importing. The toolbars are different depending on what you are marking. Click the More Options menu icon (three stacked dots) to see all the options for each toolbar.
The following is available for Word documents:
If you are marking a table in a Word file, click in the table to see the options for Word tables.
Next, click Table Properties to mark the Word table in a pop-up box.
If you select Answer, you will be prompted to specify the Answer Type.
Mapping Option Definitions
- Header: Specifies that a row is a header row.
- Auto Identify Tables: After mapping a table, this can be used to map other tables with similar formatting within the document.
- Table Properties: Opens a menu to map table content.
- Section: Click to identify sections. Sections can denote the topic or a group of questions.
- Auto Identify Sections*: By clicking this button, the system will recognize sections throughout the document.
- Sub-Section: Identifies a sub-section or a section within a section This is used more for internal organization.
- Auto Identify Sub-Sections*: Click to automatically identify sub-sections throughout the file.
- Question: Used to identify questions.
- Auto Identify Questions*: Click to automatically identify questions throughout the document.
- Sub-Questions: Click to automatically identify sub-questions under questions.
- Auto Identify Sub-Questions*: Click to automatically identify sub-questions throughout the document.
Note: Once a question/sub-question has been identified in a Word document, the system will automatically assign the answer type as rich text to that question and will be placed right underneath the question. - Answer: Marks text as an answer. Answers can only be imported if they have a question attached.
- Mark Rest as Answer: Marks all content from one point through the rest of the document as answers.
- Clear Answer: Clears the entire document of marked answers.
- Label: Import content within an answer type as a label. Labels are an un-editable and appear as a response.
- Description: Content can be added as a description when it explains the particular section in detail. Descriptions add context to questions but are not questions themselves. Additionally, descriptions can be imported, edited, and exported.
- Mark Rest as Description: Marks the document from one point through the rest of the document as descriptions.
- Help Text: Similar to description text in that it provides context and a framework to answer the questions underneath them. Provides the ability to mark text as help text for import, but the text is not editable, nor will it export within a project.
Note: For more information regarding Labels, Descriptions, and Help Text, refer to How to Define Content as a Description, Help Text, or Label When Configuring a Document. - Ignore: Marks content that should not be imported. Content can be left unmarked to ignore it as well.
- Merge: Merges content on separate lines together.
- Split: Divides content in table cells or blocks of text into sections, questions, and answers.
- Tags: Marks the content as a tag.
- Question No: Marks the content as a question number.
- Undo: Undoes the last action.
- Clear: Removes the most recent tagged content.
- Clear All: Removes all tagged content from the document.
*Note: To auto-identify content in a Word document, make sure that styles are in place for sections, sub-sections, questions, and sub-questions. If they are not defined, then auto-identification will not work and the document will need to be marked line by line.
