Overview
This article explains how to:
- Archive a project
- Download an export package from an archived project
- Unarchive a project, returning it to active status
Archiving is a key activity for managing your active project count in Responsive and storing projects that no longer need to be open.
Active and archived projects are listed on separate tabs on the Projects page.
Note: Active projects include project categories of Current, Completed, Canceled and Trash.
Archiving a Project
To archive a project, find it on the list of projects on the Projects page. Click the More Options menu icon and then click Archive Project.
You will be prompted to confirm the action. Click Archive.
You are able to initiate the same archival process from within an active project as well. Click Menu, and then select Archive.
You will be prompted to confirm the action, and the project will be archived.
Downloading an Export Package
If there is an exported package in the archived file, you can download it by clicking Export.
Click the download icon for the file and it will be downloaded.
If multiple versions of an exported package are available, select the checkbox of the one you want and then click the download icon.
Unarchiving a Project
To unarchive a project:
- Click on the Projects tab, click on the Archived tab on the Projects page and find the project you want to restore. Click the More Options icon, and then select Unarchive Project.

You will be prompted to confirm the status the restored project should have.
Note: The default status selected is based upon the project’s last status before being archived.
Click on a project status, then Confirm.
The project will be restored with the new status.
