Overview
Responsive allows you to associate Answer Library Q&A pairs with other pairs so you can, for example, relate similar pairs. When someone changes one of the pairs, Responsive can notify you so you can update the others as needed.
Note: The translations of a Q&A pair are related automatically.
With Related Content, Q&A pairs have an intransitive relationship. If A is associated with B, and B is associated with C, A is not associated with C unless you explicitly create that association. With Related Content, you can have chain relationships and parent-child relationships.
Responsive currently offers Linked Content, which is similar to Related Content except that the relationships between Q&A pairs are transitive. If A is associated with B, and B is associated with C, A is automatically associated with C.
Related Content and Linked Content are mutually exclusive. If you have Linked Content and would like to migrate to Related Content, contact Support@responsive.io. The migration takes about 20 minutes and will be performed outside business hours.
Linked Content is being grandfathered.
Use Case: You want to relate all the Q&A pairs that discuss the technical details of one of your products.

Managing Related Content
You can see the relationships between Q&A pairs by exporting them into an Excel spreadsheet or Word document as usual. Related To will appear as a column heading for an Excel spreadsheet or as a row in a Word document.
Excel Example:
Word Example:
The question ID of the related pair is listed.
- In an Excel spreadsheet, multiple IDs are separated by semicolons
- In a Word document, multiple IDs appear on separate rows in the table cell
This allows you to see which Q&A pairs are related.
You can change the relationships in Responsive by changing the question ID values:
- To create a new association with a Q&A pair, copy the value in the Related To field and paste it in the Related To field of the new Q&A pair
- To remove an association, delete the value in the Related To field for the Q&A pair you would like to unlink
- To move a Q&A pair from one related group to another, replace the existing Related To value with the value from another Q&A pair
Note: Keep in mind that related Q&A pairs have an intransitive relationship. If you want to completely remove a Q&A pair from all of its related pairs, you will have to explicitly delete the Related To IDs for all of them.
When you are finished making your changes, import the file back into Responsive to update your Answer Library.
