From the Answer Library, it is possible to add files from the Document Library as an attachment or a link. When added as a link, any updates to the document in the Document Library will be automatically updated in the Answer Library.
Note: Once a linked document has been attached to a Q&A pair in the Answer Library, the file cannot be deleted from the Document Library.
To link a document between the Answer Library and Document Library:
- From the Answer Library, click the edit (i.e. pencil) icon next to a Q&A pair.
- The Answer Editor pop-up will be displayed. Click Attach Files.
- The Attach Files pop-up will be displayed. Click Document Library. A pop-up will be displayed with the options to add documents as a link or add as an attachment.
To attach only the document, leave the Retain Document Library Link checkbox unchecked then click Attach.
To attach the document as a link, select the Retain Document Library Link checkbox, then click Attach.
- Click Save in the Answer Editor pop-up.
Linked files will be displayed in the Q&A pair with a link icon:
Any documents attached to Q&A pairs that are not linked to the Document Library will not display the link icon.
