The following mark options are available when importing and mapping Microsoft Word documents and Microsoft Excel documents:

- Table Properties: Opens a menu to map table content.
- Section: Used to identify sections. Sections can denote the topic or a group of questions.
- Auto Identify Sections*: By clicking this button, the system will recognize sections throughout the document.
- Sub-Section: Identifies a sub-section or a section within a section This is used more for internal organization.

Note: Once a question/sub-question has been identified in a Word document, the system will automatically assign the answer type as rich text to that question and will be placed right underneath the question. - Answer: Marks text as an answer. Answers can only be imported if they have a question attached.
- Mark Rest as Answer: Marks all content from one point through the rest of the document as answers.
- Clear Answer: Clears the entire document of marked answers.
- Label: Import content within an answer type as a label. Labels are an un-editable and appear as a response.
- Description: Content can be added as a description when it explains the particular section in detail. Descriptions add context to questions but are not questions themselves. Additionally, descriptions can be imported, edited, and exported.
- Mark Rest as Description: Marks the document from one point through the rest of the document as descriptions.
- Help Text: Similar to description text in that it provides context and a framework to answer the questions underneath them. Provides the ability to mark text as help text for import, but the text is not editable, nor will it export within a project.
Note: For more information regarding Labels, Descriptions, and Help Text, refer to How to Define Content as a Description, Help Text, or Label When Configuring a Document.
- Merge: Merges content on separate lines together.
- Split: Divides content in table cells or blocks of text into sections, questions, and answers.
- Ignore: Marks content not wanted to import. Content can be left unmarked to ignore as well. This feature is helpful when importing tables that have a header row. See the example below:
- Undo: Undoes the last action.
- Clear: Removes the most recent tagged content.
- Clear All: Removes all tagged content from the document.
*Note: To auto-identify content in a Word document, make sure that style guides are in place for sections, sub-sections, questions, and sub-questions. If they are not defined, then auto-identification will not work and the document will need to be marked line by line.
