The Responsive Password Policy is an optional feature that allows you to customize the criteria required when establishing a password for Responsive. If enabled, this feature allows you to set rules for Responsive user passwords, and only passwords that comply with these personalized requirements will be accepted during account activation or password changes.
Use Case: Your company IT policies require specific password criteria such as character type/limit, reset cycle, and historical password usage restriction.
Permissions
Responsive Admin users with access to Organization Settings are able to set up the password requirements.
Enabling Password Policy
- Go to Organization Settings > Security > Password Policy.
- Turn on the toggle switch associated with Password Policy. A section as shown below will be displayed.
- By default, the minimum password length will be set as 6. However, you can modify it to enter values between 6 and 99.
- Select the associated checkbox to enable the following:
- Begin with alphabet
- At least one uppercase letter.
- At least one lowercase letter.
- At least one number.
- At least one special character.
- To enable the password expiration period, select the associated checkbox. Options, as shown below, will be displayed:
- Enter the value for password expiration period in days.
- Enter the number of days before which the user must be notified about password expiry.
- Value for Notify Before should always be equal to or lesser than the value of the Password Expiration Period.
- To enable password history, select the associated checkbox. A section as shown below will be displayed:
- You can specify the count of old passwords that cannot be the same as the newly set password.
- Values must be between 1 and 6.
- Click SUBMIT to save the settings.
A success message will be displayed and password policy will be enabled for all upcoming password changes and new logins.
