Responsive allows you to manage your content format, styles and fonts. You can configure the formatting settings in Responsive to be established as default format or style options in the Project's and Answer Library's rich text response editor.
In order to define the styles, your Responsive user role needs to have access to the Company Settings in Organization Settings.
Use Case
If you need to follow your company's style guide and the style you want to use is not currently in Responsive, you can import them into the application and then apply the styles to the response fields. |
See Formatting Answer Library Content for more information.
Understanding Format and Style Priorities:
To ensure your content looks exactly as you intend, it's important to understand how the various formatting options interact and which take priority. Here's a breakdown of the priorities for the formats and styles.
- Default Content Format: This is the lowest level and serves as the baseline formatting for all content unless overridden by the other options.
- Custom Content Style: This comes next. If you apply a custom style, it will override the default format but be overridden by direct styling.
- Direct Content Styling: This takes the highest priority. Any formatting you apply manually in the rich text editor will override all other styles.
Defining Default Content Formats
You can define the default format that will be applied in the Project’s and Answer Library’s rich text editor.
To define the format, you can follow the steps below:
- Login to Responsive > Organization Settings > COMPANY > Company Features
- Scroll down to Content Formats and click Edit icon.
- Enable Set Default Format by turning the toggle
- Select the font from the drop-down.
- Select the font size.
- Select the font and its background color. You can select more colors by clicking the
icon.
- Click SUBMIT once the selections are done.
By default, the settings configured will apply to Project’s and Answer Library’s rich text editor that was created before and after the configuration.
Creating Styles for the response fields
You can create styles to the application, that can be applied in the Project’s and Answer Library’s rich text editor.
To create a style, you can follow the steps below:
- Login to Responsive > Organization Settings > COMPANY > Company Features
- Click MANAGE STYLES & FONTS tab.
- To create a new style, click Add New Style. The Create New Style pop-up will be displayed
- Enter a name for the style.
- Select the font size and family.
- Select the foreground and background color.
- Select the line spacing for paragraph.
- Select the indentation and other styles.
- Click SUBMIT.
The style will be added to the list of styles and can be applied in the Project’s and Answer Library’s rich text editor.
Importing Styles from Microsoft Word
You can import defined MS Word Styles into the application, that can be applied in the Project’s and Answer Library’s rich text editor in the Formatting Toolbar Styles dropdown.
- Imported styles can only be applied to the Response field and for text only; bullets are not supported by this styles toolbar. See Working With Response Templates to learn how to apply styles to the sections, headers, and footers.
- The Highlighter function in the Responsive app is not the same as the Highlighter function in Word (we apply a background color instead). As a best practice, we recommend removing the highlighting in Word and then building a style with the shading in so it can be easily applied/removed.
