Create Catalog Structure
Catalog structure is a template that allows you to organize the content for your products and services.
Step 1: Click CREATE NEW.
Step 2: Provide a name for the catalog structure and define catalog Merge Tags under Structure Elements.
Manage Catalogs
Create and manage your products and services here.
Step 1: Click Create new icon.
Step 2: Choose a catalog structure and provide details for your catalog.
Using Catalog Merge Tag within the Section Template
Catalog merge tags will be automatically replaced with the content of catalogs that are chosen during proposal creation in Salesforce.
Use the catalog merge tag in the section description as below:
[catalog#<catalog_tag_name>] or
[catalog#<catalog_tag_name>#noname] (to exclude header name)
Create Proposal Group
Proposal group is a logical group of catalogs, section templates and response templates.
Step 1: Click CREATE NEW.
Step 2: Provide a name for the proposal group.
Step 3: Add catalogs, section templates, and response templates to the group.
Note: If you want these items to be selected in advance for the group during proposal generation, click Preselect option. |
Generate Proposal in Salesforce
Login to Salesforce.
Click Create proposal option under Opportunities page. (Refer section: Create a custom link "Create proposal" in Salesforce)
Steps to generate an Unsolicited Proposal
Step 1: Provide the Proposal details.
Note: The fields displayed in this form has to be set in Proposal > Preferences under Organization Settings. |
Step 2: Choose a Proposal Template.
Step 3: The catalogs, sections templates, and response templates belonging to the proposal group will be listed with pre-selections if made during proposal group creation.
Step 4: If no selection is made, choose the required catalogs, section templates, and response template for your proposal. You can search the catalogs, section template and response template.
Optional: Add attachments to your proposal under "Attach supporting documents".
Step 5. Click GENERATE PROPOSAL.
Step 6: You will be prompted with the preview of the proposal.
Step 7. Click Generate to proceed.
Step 8: The proposal will be available in .zip format in the Opportunities page.

Step 9: A project with the proposal details would be created in Responsive. The generated proposal will also be available under the project's Export Responses page.
Notification:
The representative creating the proposal will be sent a mail notification with an option to directly view the package in Responsive under Export Responses.
Steps to generate a Proposal with RFx
Step 1: Provide the Proposal details.

Step 2: Choose a Proposal Template.
Step 3: The catalogs, sections templates, and response templates belonging to the proposal group will be listed with pre-selections if made during proposal group creation.
Step 4: If no selection is made, choose the required catalogs, section templates, and response template for your proposal.
Step 5: Upload your RFx under Attach RFx Questionnaire.
Optional: Add attachments to your proposal under Attach Supporting Documents.
Step 6: Click CREATE PROJECT.
Step 7: You will be prompted with an option Open Project. Click on it to view the project in Responsive.
Step 8: Manage your RFx and generate proposal from Export Responses.
Notification:
The Project primary contact and additional primary contact provided in the proposal details form will be sent a mail notification with an option to directly view the package in Responsive under Export Responses.
Advanced Options
Allows you to clone sections from the existing projects into your proposal. These sections will be displayed in the Table of Contents.
