Overview
Whether a project is completed and ready to submit or you want to run a test to preview the final output, you can always generate a new export of an active project.
Exporting Active Projects
To generate a new export:
- Click on Project from the navigation menu, then select a project and go to the Project Dashboard.
- Click on Menu in the top right-hand corner, then select Export Responses.
- Click Generate New.
Note: Exports will include everything at the moment of generation. Making any adjustments to the content after an export will require a new one to be generated to capture any changes. - Click the appropriate radio buttons to include/exclude Attachments and/or the Project Report. Then, select the export type: Export in Source or Export in Template.
- If exporting in source, choose the answers to export (all or select). Next, choose the Export Source Options. This will determine the formatting of the file once it’s exported. The options include:
- Application Font: What is in the Responsive app. This can be quite variable and can often result in lots of manual cleanup after exporting.
- Source Font: Will use whatever formatting exists in the source document as defined as the 'Normal Style' in the Word styles.
- Select Font: Select the font, size, color, etc. This is the most common option when wanting a defined font and color in the export.
- If exporting in template, select a template, or create a new one by clicking on the plus sign in the top right corner. Then, click Next.
Customize the export Section Style, Question Style, Answer Style. Answer List Style, Table Style, Catalog Heading Style, etc.
Note: Changing these style settings alters the core settings of the template unique to that project.
Important: If you select Use Template Font Family and Size under Answer Style, if style names are the same in the application (e.g. Responsive) as the Word template, upon export, the template style formatting will take precedence over the application style formatting. - Finally, click Export.
- It may take a few minutes for the export file to appear. Click the refresh icon next to the spinning wheel to expedite the processing of the file. Once the file appears, click Download to download the file.
Note: While exporting in source or template, to hide the response header from appearing in the exported file, select Prefix not required from the Response Prefix drop-down options.
