You can create user-defined merge tags at the project, section, and question levels.
Creating Custom Field as Merge Tag
Custom fields created in project can be associated to a merge tag and it can be used as merge tag while answering. We can create a new custom field in Organization Settings > PROJECT > Custom Fields > ADD FIELD.
The Add Custom Field pop-up will be displayed. Select the Category, enter the Merge Tag Name and Display Name. After entering the necessary details, click ADD.
Newly created field will be displayed in the list of fields as shown below:
While creating a new project, you have to enter the custom field value.
You can use the created Merge Tag name while answering questions and complete the section.
Creating Salesforce Defined Merge Tag
To create a merge tag from Salesforce, select Add from Salesforce.
Enter Salesforce fields to be searched and click search icon. Once the results are displayed, click the + icon to add the field.
Edit the tag name if required and click the tick symbol to add the tag.
The tag will be added as shown:
All merge tags added from Salesforce will be available under Salesforce Fields.
Merge tags will be replaced with their respective values when the document is exported.
Creating Merge Tags at Project level
To create a merge tag at the project level, you can follow the steps below:
Click MENU from the top right corner of the page and select Merge Tags.
Click Add new tag.
Add name and value for the tag. Add an '_'(underscore) if you are adding a tag with more than a word. Click the tick icon to save the tag.
Creating Merge Tags at Overall Question Level
You can access merge tags at the overall question level by clicking View in the top navigation menu and then selecting Merge Tags.
Creating Merge Tags at Individual Question Level
When you are responding to an individual question and would like to access merge tags, you can click the More Options icon associated with the question, and then select Merge Tags.
In the Merge Tags pane, click Manage Tags icon.
The Merge Tags pop-up will be displayed. You can enter merge tag values or add a new user-defined merge tag.
You can also add merge tags manually while responding to the question. Enter merge tag word or phrase within square brackets, and the application will automatically identify it as user-defined merge tag.
To see your newly created user defined tags, click User Defined Fields. List of user defined tags used in the project will be displayed.
Auto-suggestions for system defined, user defined, and Salesforce defined merge tags will appear as user types response with square braces.
System-defined merge tags can also be added by clicking the System Defined Fields.
Copy and paste the tag into the response.
