Applying Star Ratings to Q&A Pairs

Overview

Star ratings help prioritize the order of question and answer recommendations (a.k.a. Q&A pairs) while responding to a questionnaire. It optimizes content in the Answer Library, ensuring strong recommendations are presented first and reducing/removing weak recommendations. Star ratings can be updated by editing the Q&A pair in the Recommendation Engine at the question level and within the Answer Library.

Use Cases

• To assign greater favorability to questions and answers in the Recommendation Engine.
• To devalue questions and answers so they are not available via the default Recommendation Engine. However, users will still be able to find 0 star rating content via search.

Note: By default, only Admins and Content Owners can edit star ratings. However, custom role users with the ‘Edit Content’ permission can also edit star ratings.

Applying Star Ratings to Q&A Pairs from a Project

To rate Q&A pairs while providing responses from within a project, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Section List within a project and select a question. The Recommendation Engine will appear to the right.
2. Hover over a Q&A pair and select the Options button, then click Edit.
3. At the bottom of the window, click on the star rating to apply it to the Q&A pair, then click Save.

Applying Star Ratings to Q&A Pairs in the Answer Library

To rate Q&A pairs within the Answer Library, follow the steps below:

1. Select Answers from the left navigation menu to go to the Answer Library.
2. Select a Q&A pair, then click Edit.
3. At the bottom of the window, click on the star rating to apply it to the Q&A pair, then click Save.

To bulk rate Q&A pairs:

1. Select the Menu option from the top right corner. Click Bulk Update, then Star Rating.
2. Choose one of the radio button options:
1. Whole Results includes all content from the Answer Library, or all AL filtered content.
2. Select Questions allows for selecting specific questions from all filtered/unfiltered content.
3. Click on the star rating, and if Select Questions was selected, click the checkboxes next to the appropriate Q&A pairs.
4. When finished, click Save to apply the rating.
